Long Eaton Campus Visits St George's Park

March 2022

Recently VLUK's Long Eaton United campus had the privilege to visit St George's Park offering the learners the opportunity to access the facility and to heighten their understanding around a range of sport-related areas through industry leading professionals. 

The learners participated in a range of workshops and practical sessions throughout the day which included:

1. Sport Psychology workshop

2. Performance Profiling

3. Pitch Conditioning

4. Sport Nutrition workshop

5. Hydrotherapy & Recovery

The sessions that the learners participated in, all linked to the curriculum units that the learners have already studied, or are to study, during this academic year. It provided the learners with the opportunity to participate in sporting sessions in world-class facilities, whilst also giving the learners the opportunity to gain current information from leading industry professionals that are working in the sector, with leading sports organisations such as the England football teams, Manchester United FC and British Sailing.

The learners thoroughly enjoyed their visit and gained valuable insight into the wider sports industry. Thanks to Game Changer Performance, who operate out of St George's Park, who facilitated the visit.

Dorking Wanderers Joins the Fold

15th July 2019

Dorking Wanderers FC, will be offering a new HNC/HND course from September 2019.

Dorking Wanderers have made this decision because they want to greater enhance the learning of students from the BTEC level three course which they currently offer and to give all students the chance to continue to develop their football ability at a later stage.

Everyone develops at different rates and there have been a number of examples of late developers, even in the premier league, with the likes of Jamie Vardy who have reached a higher level at a later age.

Jordan Clark, Director Of Football & Education, Dorking Wanderers FC, is looking forward to supporting students to further develop in their football career along with developing them educationally. After completion of the HND course, students will also have the opportunity to continue their education with a BA Sports Coaching degree.
