UCS and Rangers extend partnership
UCS is delighted to announce that it has extended its partnership with Rangers to continue to deliver its higher education programme with the club. Current and future students will have access to university provision at Ibrox Stadium with UCS Lecturers working within an inspirational environment, whilst also utilising the club’s other practical facilities to supplement the academic delivery.
Rangers will then provide additional industry work experience for students across areas such as coaching, scouting, match analysis and life as a player/athlete.
Part of the Oxford Virtual Education Group, which has been long established in England for well over a decade, UCS has been providing the same higher education pathway at clubs across England for more than five years with 23 campuses which continues to grow. The group also includes VLUK which provides college age provision to over 1,200 students.
Gary Gibson, Rangers’ Head of Soccer Academies & International Relations commented: “We are delighted to extend the length of our agreement with higher education provider, UCS. As we move into our third year it has been fantastic to see the progress in the current students’ balance of learning and gaining work experience, which has been invaluable for their development, with several students gaining employment with our soccer academies team, showing a clear pathway.
“We continue to hold a number of development days for the students and invite key members of staff from coaching, sports science, scouting, match analysis and medical and they join our monthly webinars with key staff members across the club and gain access to our cutting-edge Rangers Online Academy which will further aid in their development.
It is a truly unique course and one the club is very proud to be part of supporting students who have a desire to succeed in the sporting world and give them the tools necessary to work at all different levels and increase their knowledge and understanding and ultimately set them on the right career pathway.”
Rob Johnson CEO UCS added “UCS is committed to empowering our students to succeed at all levels of the sports world. We take pride in equipping them with the necessary tools, knowledge, and understanding to pursue fulfilling careers in their chosen pathways.
We would like to express our gratitude to Rangers Football Club for their ongoing support and partnership. We are fortunate to collaborate with a partner who shares our long-term vision which is now complimented by a new 5 year agreement.
Together, we strive to provide exceptional educational opportunities that prepare our students for successful careers in the sporting industry”.
